About Christina Bueno, Psy.D.
Christina Bueno, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the neuropsychological assessment and treatment of individuals with acquired brain injuries, neurologic disorders, chronic medical conditions, and psychiatric illness. She provides evidence-based interventions, including acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to improve the overall functioning and wellbeing in these populations.

Dr. Bueno obtained her Doctor of Psychology degree in Combined School-°ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Psychology from Kean University. She completed her clinical internship in °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Neuropsychology at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital and completed specialized training in the neuropsychological assessment of Spanish-speaking populations at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Dr. Bueno obtained post-doctoral training at the Mt. Sinai Epilepsy Center and completeda two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Department of Psychiatry at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Bueno has a vested interest in culturally-informed neuropsychological assessment and treatment of ethnic minorities and non-native English speakers, and is actively involved in professional groups aimed to reduce disparities in healthcare and facilitate culturally sensitive approaches to clinical care of underserved populations. She was a psychologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center’s COVID-19 Clinic and provided treatment to English and Spanish-speaking individuals over the course of their recovery and outpatient rehabilitation. She is conducting longitudinal research examining the trajectory of cognitive difficulties, psychiatric symptoms, and resilience in COVID-19 survivors.
Dr. Bueno lectures on topics involving culturally informed clinical care and neuropsychology for clinical psychology interns, medical residents, social workers, and other hospital staff. She is also a member of the diversity and inclusion steering committee at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Behavioral Health Center.
